Each year more than 50,000 women and children are served by the shelters and the support programs we help fund.
Since 1998 the Foundation has raised over $38,000,000 and supports over 200 shelters. It is not enough! Let’s do more.

About The RLP Shelter Foundation
The RLP Shelter Foundation is a charitable organization that supports Canadian women and children who have experienced domestic violence. Established in 1998, the foundation has raised millions of dollars to help women and children rebuild their lives after leaving abusive situations.
Shelter Foundation Mission
The mission of the RLP Shelter Foundation is to support and fund women’s shelters and violence prevention programs across Canada. The foundation works with local shelters and organizations to provide emergency shelter, food, clothing, counselling, and other essential services to women and children who have experienced domestic violence.
Fundraising Events
One of the primary ways that the Shelter Foundation raises money is through its National Garage Sale for Shelter. This annual event is held in communities across Canada and involves thousands of Royal LePage agents who donate their time and efforts to organize and run the sale. Since its inception in 2009, the National Garage Sale for Shelter has raised over $34 million for the foundation.
Another way that the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation raises funds is through the Foundation Golf Tournament. This annual event brings together real estate professionals, corporate sponsors, and community members to raise money for women’s shelters and violence prevention programs. The tournament has raised over $7 million since it began in 2002.
Shelter Partnerships
The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation has partnered with the Canadian Women’s Foundation to support the Safer + Stronger Grants program. This program funds organizations across Canada that work to prevent violence against women and girls. Since 2018, the RShelter Foundation has contributed over $1.5 million to this program.
In addition to providing financial support, the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation raises awareness about domestic violence and its impact on women and children. The foundation has created educational resources and materials available to the public and hosts events to raise awareness about the issue.
