Springbank Park offers something for everyone, making it one of London’s most popular outdoor destinations. Visitors can enjoy kilometres of scenic walking and cycling trails along the Thames River, expansive green spaces for relaxing or picnicking, well-equipped playgrounds for children, and beautiful river views throughout the park. During the summer months, families can cool off at the park’s splash pad and wading pool, making Springbank Park an ideal destination for a free day outdoors. It’s perfect for families, couples, and anyone looking to relax outdoors.

Visit Covent Garden Market
Even if you don’t plan to shop, Covent Garden Market is well worth a visit. As one of London’s most vibrant gathering places, it offers the chance to browse local vendors, artisan shops, and fresh food while enjoying the lively atmosphere. Throughout the year, the park comes alive with popular events such as Sunfest, Ribfest, Canada Day celebrations, holiday lighting displays, and seasonal attractions like the Winter Village, drawing thousands of residents and visitors alike. Even outside the festival season, Victoria Park remains a beautiful place to visit, offering mature trees, open green space, walking paths, gardens, and plenty of room to relax with a picnic, enjoy a quiet stroll, or simply take in the atmosphere of downtown London.
Visit Fanshawe Conservation Area
Fanshawe Conservation Area is a popular destination for hiking, cycling, birdwatching, nature photography, fishing, picnicking, and exploring the shoreline of Fanshawe Lake. The park offers more than 20 kilometres of hiking trails, including the long Lake Trail, along with playgrounds, picnic areas, green space, and seasonal access to paddling and boating. However, it is not a free attraction. In 2026, the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority charges day-use admission, including $17 per vehicle during the main season, $11 per vehicle during the spring and fall shoulder seasons, and $8 for pedestrians or cyclists. Participating local libraries may also offer conservation-area passes for cardholders to borrow. Fees, operating hours, trail conditions, and available facilities can change, so check the official Fanshawe Conservation Area information before visiting.
Explore Westminster Ponds
One of London’s hidden gems, Westminster Ponds contains over 11 kilometres of natural trails through wetlands and forests.
